1. What is RIMC?
The Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) is one of the most esteemed institutions under the Ministry of Defence, along with NDA, Khadakwasla, and IMA, Dehradun. It was founded in 1922 and is spread across 138 acres of lush green land in Dehradun. RIMC offers a complete residential public school education for boys from Class 8 to Class 12.
The selection process is rigorous and includes an All India Written Exam, an Interview, and a Medical Test. Since the academic session of 2022-23, girls are also eligible to apply.
2. Who Can Apply for the RIMC Entrance Exam on June 1, 2025?
- Boys and girls can apply.
- The candidate must be in Class 7 or have passed Class 7.
- The date of birth should be between January 2, 2013, and July 1, 2014.
3. Exam Pattern of RIMC Admission for Class 8
The entrance exam consists of the following sections:
- Mathematics: 200 marks (90 minutes)
- English: 125 marks (120 minutes)
- General Knowledge (GK): 75 marks (60 minutes)
- Viva-Voce (Interview): 50 marks
- Total Marks: 200 marks
To qualify for the interview stage, students must score a minimum of 50% marks in each subject. There is no negative marking in the exam.
Age Criteria for Admission
Students must be between 11.5 to 13 years at the time of admission. The entrance exam is conducted twice a year in June and December.
